Dear clients and friends,

First of all congratulations to clients and friends Kristina and Paul at Kikki K. They have expanded their business from 5 to 14 stores in Australia and New Zealand in the last 6 months, and Kristina was just voted Ethnic Business Person of the year at an award ceremony in Sydney. Big congrats also to the guitarist of Young & Restless, Mark Falkland, whose band won the Triple J Unearthed Competition and performed at last weekend's Homebake festival in Sydney.

We at the Thinque Team are excited to look back on our 1st year in business. We recently celebrated our 1 year birthday and a great deal has been achieved in a short time. Positive media coverage (ABC and SBS National Radio, Stureplan Magazine, and two eminent Australian publications in Jan-Feb 2007) for our work with Generation Y students and young professionals and our comments on globalisation, combined with successful seminars and trainings, and the enthusiastic feed-back from our training and coaching clients means a great deal to us. Our book is coming out in June next year and Anders is featuring in Dale Beaumont's book 'Secrets of Top Australian Success Coaches Exposed', due for release on May 1 / 2007.

The last week has been action-packed with Anders finishing his Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, meeting Australian top guns such as Avril Henry (one of the pre-eminent experts on Gen Y, leadership and HR in Australia), and instituting the 'Thinque - Anders Sorman-Nilsson Prize for Leadership' for the Captain of Canberra Grammar School at their annual Awards Night at the Australian National University, where I also had the opportunity to hear the inspiring Chief of the Australian Defence Forces, Air Chief Marshall Houston address the school. Thinque-Inc, our corporate arm, is having communications with several cool clients whose thinking is both innovative and humane.

Bradley Carron-Arthur is the winner of this year's 'Thinque - Anders Sorman-Nilsson Prize for Leadership' and we are excited to be working closely with him to help him in his important role as leader of one Australia's premier schools. The prize is highly innovative in that it both includes the traditional book vouchers for personal development and leadership books, and goes beyond by providing him with a generous cheque to be donated to the winner's favourite charity, one year of mentoring and coaching, and a $ 5000 scholarship to attend Thinque's leadership, communication and interpersonal dynamics courses and trainings in 2007.

Anika Patel has recently stepped up to be Director of Youth Development and has sizeable plans for the execution of our youth development plan in 2007 and beyond - an exciting development.

This weekend I am heading to the Blue Eagle Retreat outside Sydney with my business partner Kimberly. A fantastic group of people that we are expecting to do some innovative work with, and I am genuinely looking forward to mixing yoga, exercise and brainstorming with great food and perspective to fine tune and polish our Thinque-Inc corporate trainings in 2007. A well earned break and good practice for my extended business-holiday in Sweden and France. Powder skiing, books in front of an open fire place and article writing, and our leading-edge goal-setting CDs are outcomes we are working toward - it is a fine balance to tread, but one that I am looking forward to ;)

All the best and stay one step ahead

Kind regards

Anders

PS. Some good resources for staying ahead of the pack are provided in the following links.

PPS. Also enthusiastic about putting up some great pics from the Canberra Grammar Awards Night in the next few weeks. ;)
