09 Aug 2015

One of the key sucess factors that makes startups successful is that they have a team of motivated employees. In this blog post I'm going to share with you the 3 main factors that makes co-workers at start-ups engaged.

The benefit of having motivated and engaged employees is not just that it boosts the organizations productivity, it also helps create a great corporate culture and a sense of purpose among the co-workers.

According to author Dan Pink there are 3 main factors that make employees highly engaged at work. Those factors are Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose. If you have not read his book Drive I highly recommend that you do. In the book he examines those three elements of true motivation and give you as a reader insights about how you can put those into practice.

However, there are other factors than just employee engagement that explain why some startups succeed while others fail. According to Bill Gross, business incubator and founder of Idealab, there are five key factors that define success. By gathering data from hundreds of companies and organizations he have come to the conclusion that the single biggest reason why disruptive startups like AirBnB, Instagram, Uber and YouTube succeed is that their timing is right.
