Thought of the day:
Last week in a Thinque-zine entitled 'Upgrade Your Thinking in Downgraded Times', I mentioned that my mantra and advice for 2009 is 'Full Force Forward / Back to Basics'.
In other words be:
a. an innovative, flexible, creative, future-minded problem-solver
b. a Return On Investment and KPI-focussed navigator that ensures you're not steering a sinking ship, or wasting your fuel.
Yesterday, when I picked up the latest edition of the Harvard Business Review, this claim was strengthened.
Rhodes' and Stelter's article ' Seize Advantage in a Downturn' says that successful business brains need 'a rapid but measured approach - simultaneously defensive and offensive - to tackling the challenges posed by a downturn'.
Sounds oddly similar to 'full force forward / back to basics', doesn't it?
